'Duchess of Devonshire and Child', c1786, (c1912). Portrait of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire (1757-1806) and her daughter Lady Georgiana Cavendish (Little G) (1783-1858). Painting at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. British portrait painter Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792) promoted the ?Grand Style? in painting, and was a founder and first president of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He held the position of Principal Painter in Ordinary to the king. His work is held in galleries and museums around the world.
