Interstate TDR-1 assault drone being prepared for attack. During September and October 1944, Special Task Air Group One (STAG-1) operated TDR-1s from Banika, Russell Islands, in combat action against enemy targets in the Solomons area. This photograph was probably taken during this time. Note the bomb being hoisted into position under the drone's fuselage, the name Edna III on the side of its nose, and television guidance equipment inside the nose.
