Only four towers remain and many sections of walls still visible along the outer boulevards. It was preceded by two drawbridges which enclosed a guardhouse. was condemned to destruction during the winter of 1831-1832 following deliberations by the City Council December 7, 1831. It is through this door that the archbishops were entering their archiepiscopal city.
