Peter III of Russia (Kiel Castle ,1728-Rops, 1762). Duke of Holstein (Charles Peter, 1739-1762) and tsar of Russia (January-July 1762). Mentally immature, was deposed by a group of nobles led by his wife, who succeeded him to the throne as Catherine II. Few days later (July 17) he was killed. Colored engraving.
