On top: representation of the Christ in a medalion, surrounded by symbols of the Four Evangelists.. 6th century.. Built in the 6th century, the basilica was consecrated in 549 by Bishop Maximianus of Ravenna and dedicated to Apollinaris, first Bishop of Ravenna.
