WILLIAM O FIELD. Drinking Fountain, Roehampton Lane, Roehampton, Wandsworth, Greater London Authority, 1904. A group of young boys gathered on the steps at the base of the drinking fountain at the junction of Medfield Street and Roehampton Lane with the Montague Arms visible in the background. The fountain was built in 1882 to the designs of Sir Frederick Lance for Mrs Lyne Stephens of Grove House. A detail from this photograph appears in 'William Fields's Photographs of Putney', compiled by Dorian Gerhold and Michael Bull for the Wandsworth Historical Society.
