Caption:
The bowl has below a leaf chalice and above a protruding band with festoons supported by bow-knots. It is supported by a square base, with a plinth below and an upper molded panel with two lead chalices at the sides and rinceaux springing from a head in the inner panel. The lid forms a high curved pedestal, with a row of upright scrolls with chrubim in the lower intervals. On top St. John the Baptist as boy, sitting. Usual background. Date: ca. 1775. Pen and brown ink, brush and brown wash on lined off-white laid paper.
