Telegram from 13/7/1870 about the meeting between William I of Prussia and the French ambassador Benedetti (Benedetti had given Wilhelm a letter demanding that no member of any branch of the Hohenzollern family would ever be a candidate for the Spanish throne). Elms dispatch edited by Bismarck. (It resulted in the French declaration of war against Germany. Manuscript of the edited version by Bismarck, published on July 14th.
