Archibald Joseph (AJ) Cronin (1896-1981) Scottish novelist. Graduated in medicine, 1919, and practiced until 1930. Cronin had success with novels drawn from his medical experiences, particularly "The Citadel" (1937) and "The Keys of the Kingdom" (1941).
