WWII 1940 1941-An italian medium bomber SM 79

WWII 1940 1941-An italian medium bomber SM 79 ready to take off from an italian base in the libyan desert. The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero (Sparrowhawk) was a three-engined Italian medium bomber with a wood-and-metal structure. Originally designed as a fast passenger aircraft, this low-wing monoplane, in the years 1937–39, set 26 world records that qualified it for some time as the fastest medium bomber in the world. During the North African campaign, around 100 SM.79s served in 10, 14, 15 and 30 Wings, bombing mainly non-strategic targets in the desert.
