SIMON INGLIS. Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex, Gatting Way, Uxbridge, Hillingdon, London, 2010. Creator: Simon Inglis.

SIMON INGLIS. Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex, Gatting Way, Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Greater London Authority, 2010. The restored octagonal aerator fountain at the north end of the outdoor pool at the former Uxbridge Lido, soon after its re-opening as the Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Centre. Uxbridge Lido was opened in 1935. It was designed in a Moderne style by George Percy Trentham. The pool was closed permanently in 1988. It was part of a £31 million redevelopment which saw it become the Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex, designed by Faulkner Brown and opened in March 2010. The lido and original buildings are listed Grade II, and is the second longest open air swimming pool in London at 220 foot long (the longest, Tooting Bec Lido, measures 300 foot).
