Hanuman's childhood. The top left shows Hanuman leaping towards the sun having perceived it as a fruit. Hanuman's father, Vayu, follows him on a deer, fearful his son will be burnt by the sun's rays. Rahu, shown as a disembodied head, is pleading with Indra to stop Hanuman on the right. Indra is depicted following Hanuman, striking him with a thunderbolt.
