Archduchess Margaret of Austria (Sister Margarita de la Cruz) taking the habit from the (Descalzas Reales) the 'Royal Barefoot Nuns' 1584. A member of the House of Habsburg, Margaret was born in Vienna on February 16, 1536, the daughter of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor and his wife Anne of Bohemia and Hungary. She became a nun in Hall in Tirol, where she died on March 12, 1567.
