He shall be decorated with a golden medal for military value for the victorious and heroic fight against an English torpedo-boat squadron on the 12th of October. In that occasion, he succeeded to hit the cruiser 'Ajax'; however, he was seriously injured and his boat wrecked. Mediterranean Sea, October 1940.
