Caption:
Anchiornis huxleyi fossil, a feathered, bird-like dinosaur from the late Jurassic, 161-151 million years ago, Liaoning Province, China. Feather imprints are clearly visible around the limbs and the body. In one Anchiornis fossil, palaeontologists found remains of melanosomes - structures that produce colour - and they could infer that these dinosaurs were multi-coloured.
