fly ranch geyser

Fly Ranch Geyser - a geothermal surface manifestaion (expression) in northern Nevada. This is a manmade geyser, the result of a failed water well. Because the water was too hot for livestock to drink, the landowner tried but failed to cap the well properly. Over time, the leaking artesian well laid down the mineral formations (tufa) that make the geyser what it is today.
