Mombello, Limbiate, Lombardy, Italy. Oratory of St. Francis (Oratorio di San Francesco), next to the Villa Pusterla Crivelli, is an important work by Francesco Croce, architect of the major spire of Milan Cathedral. Here, on June 14, 1797, the sisters of Napoleon Bonaparte Paolina and Elisa were married. Inside, to the right of the oval, are depicted Santo Stefano, San Giovanni Evangelista, Sant'Anna and San Gaetano di Thiene. The fresco is attributed to Francesco Angelo Borroni (circa 1754).
