'The Adoration of the Trinity' (The Landauer Altarpiece), 1511. This picture shows the Holy Trinity in glory, worshipped by all the saints. In the upper zone the Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are flanked by Angels carrying the instruments of Christ's passion. Below them on the left are the female saints led by the Virgin Mary. On the right are the male saints led by John the Baptist, and Old Testament figures including Moses holding the Tablets of the Law and King David playing the harp. In the bottom zone are Popes and Cardinals, Kings, Princes and commoners floating on clouds. Durer has painted a self portrait pointing to a tablet with date and signature (bottom right).
