Hair ornament of pearls set in five pins in the form of stars diminishing in size. From a family wardrobe preserved. Handcoloured lithograph from "Costumes of British Ladies from the Time of William the First to the Reign of Queen Victoria,” London, Dickinson & Son, 1840. 48 mounted plates of women's fashion from 1066 to 1840 based on effigies, manuscripts, portraits, prints and literary descriptions.
