Flint gun, colonial army M.1837, Flint gun or musket of the colonial army, M.1837. Designed as the first rifle for natives and therefore shorter and lighter. On the lock plate the G 42 brands are under a crown on the outside and EM W on the inside. The barrel has no visor, M-1837 is engraved on the tail of the barrel, in addition, there are various marks stamped on it, including YES under a crown and 1842. The flask is stamped behind the barrel with a crowned monogram consisting of the letters ES in an oval and on the right hand side with an arsenal stamp consisting of a large crowned W circled by a double line, wherein the gap is broken up in different planes containing AOVT, HVG, 1842 and PJM, and the large, stamped initials NS. There are different brands on the fittings, in particular quality marks, and on almost every part a crowned P.
