N. C. WYETH. Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, narrating a tale of "buccaneers and buried gold". First published as a book on 14 November 1883 by Cassell & Co.  This edition was published by Charles Scribner's Sons, 1911, and the cover art by N.C. Wyeth.  Newell Convers Wyeth (October 22, 1882 – October 19, 1945), was an American artist and illustrator and a student of Howard Pyle.  He illustrated 112 books and did over 3000 paintings.
