The Diorama, invented by Daguerre

The Diorama, invented by Daguerre. One picture was painted on the front of cloth and illuminated by window M, reflected from mirror E; shutter A could be moved silently across to cut out light. Second picture was painted on the back of cloth and when shutters N, N were opened the second picture was illuminated. From A Ganot Natural Philosophy, London, 1887.
