Square medicinal jar with the coat of arms of the elector of Saxony, Square apothecary jar made of stoneware on a high, spreading foot, shoulder rounded at the corners and short neck. Covered with a cream-colored tin glaze and painted in cobalt blue. The four sides are framed by a narrow arch embossed by karyatids and an angel's head. A man's head with a mustache on each corner of the shoulder. One of the sides with the coat of arms of Johan Georg Herzog von Sachsen, the Elector of Saxony, with his monogram, coat of arms and 'H.V.C.Z.S' (Herzog und Curfürst zu Sachsen). On either side of the weapon the date '1618'. The opposite side with the inscription 'DAS.WALT.GOT.FRV.VND.SPAT.BISZ.MEIN.LEBEN.EIN.ENDE.HAT' and the monogram 'S.L'. The other two sides with a four-pass of stylized flowers. A decorative band on the shoulder. Armstadt [?]., Walker and runner birds: ostrich, birds, bunch of flowers, ornament, anonymous, Arnstadt (possibly), 1618, stoneware, glaze, cobalt (mineral), vitrification, h 20.6 cm d 5.3 cm w 12.5 cm × d 12.3 cm d 9.1 cm.
