First Pictures Of the Princess' Garden. Windlesham Moor Grounds Opened to Public To AID Charity -- Walking through an avenue of flowers in the lovely gardens of Windlesham Moor, with the mansion in background. These pictures are the first made of the gardens of Windlosham Moor since Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh took the lease of this two-storeyed, creeper-covered mansion and its 37 acres of lovely grounds near the Surrey village of Windlesham. For one day, the public were free to roam the beautiful grounds that, in the last 25 years, have been reclaimed from wild heathland. This is the first time the gardens have been opened to the public since the Royal couple took up Residence. Proceeds were devotee to the Surrey County Nursing Association. May 30, 1948.
