Italy, Milan, Milan Cathedral, Gargoyles. Made in the typical stone used in Gothic cathedral architecture, they are made in the shapes of animals belonging to the medieval bestiary, grotesques or, more rarely, in human form. They are a widely diffused sculptural feature in the Milan Cathedral and are found on the spires and smaller terraces and as part of the large ones, along the outside of the building.
