Opel, Fritz von, 1899 - 1971, son of Wilhelm von Opel and a grandson of Adam Opel, founder of the Opel company. He is remembered mostly for his spectacular demonstrations of rocket propulsion that earned him the nickname "Rocket Fritz". Opel in his car with a Sander rocket propellant (Opel Sander Rocket car 2) on the Avus motorway in Berlin (Opel RAK.2 rocket car reached a speed of 230 km/h driven by 24 solid-fuel rockets).
