Firm Zimmerman, 1859 - 1868, leather, tarpaulin, feathers, paper, paper, General (measured without plume): 21 x 17.3 x 25cm (210 x 173 x 250mm), General (measured with plume): 21 x 22 x 33cm (210 x 220 x 330mm), Sjako van de schutterij, model 1859 - 1868. It is a high sheath shako of board paper, covered with black tarpaulin. The shako has a wide band along the bottom edge with a tab at the center front. A large, curled plume of black ostrich feather is attached to the center back. The metal pompom is no longer present, as is the chin strap. The holes of both are still present. Inside along the edge is a leather band cut at the top in a zigzag line. Furthermore, the inside is lined with pink paper with a floral pattern in relief. At the very top of the inside is a blue label with in gold letters the text: ZIMMERMAN and ZOON / Amsterdam. The shako has a leather flap that is green at the bottom. There is a paper label glued to it with the number 408 printed on it. The flap is completely separate from the shako, 1893.
