Baron Guillaume Dupuytren, 1777 1835. French surgeon and anatomist. He was the first to describe what is known as Dupuytren's contracture, the condition in which fingers become permanently bent in a flexed position. He has a another place in history as the doctor who treated Napoleon Bonaparte's hemorrhoids.
