Entitled: "The Adam Forepaugh and Sells Brothers America's greatest shows consolidated. A troupe of pearl divers from Hawaii, Sandwich Islands." Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into water from a platform or springboard, usually while performing acrobatics. A circus is a company of performers that may include clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, hoopers, tightrope walkers, jugglers, unicyclists and other object manipulation and stunt-oriented artists. The traditional large tents, commonly known as "Big Tops" were introduced in the mid 19th century as touring circuses superseded static venues. These tents eventually became the most common venue and remain so to the present day. Published by Courier Company, 1898.
