Per Georg Scheutz, 19th-century Swedish lawyer, translator, and inventor. Scheutz was a pioneer in the field of computer technology. His best known invention is his Scheutzian calculation engine, invented in 1837, which was based on Charles Babbage's difference engine. An improved version of Scheutz's machine was exhibited at the 1855 World's Fair in Paris.
