Faience bowl. Culture: Ptolemaic. Dimensions: Diam.: 8 11/16 in. (22 cm). Date: 332-30 B.C.. This bowl, preserved intact, is a fine example of Egyptian faience ware. The Egyptians mastered the production of this luxury ware as early as the late Predynastic period (late fourth millennium B.C.). Faience continued to be used for both sacred and secular objects into Hellenistic and Roman times.
