Chair with in the hood of the back a profile of a woman's head within a medallion with laurel garlands on either side, Chair of mahogany, covered with green cloth (not originally). The two slightly S-shaped bent legs are decorated with a ribbed band that is crowned by a large motif of acanthus leaves. The powerfully curved hind legs are unadorned. The straight seating line shows front and sides cannelures, interrupted in the middle of the front by a round medallion with rosette on which laurel garlands depend on either side. Along the oval, slightly hollow back and the high, C-shaped curved supports thereof, there is a list of alternating bars and three pearls. This is interrupted at the top by a round medallion with a woman's head in profile, turned to the right, hanging on a bow and flanked on either side by hanging laurel garlands., anonymous, Netherlands, c. 1775 - c. 1780, mahogany (wood), textile materials, h 97.5 cm × w 52.0 cm × d 56.5 cm.
