ALBRECHT ADAM (1786-1862) AND HEINRICH ADAM (1787-1862). GERMAN ARTISTS.. The Cavalry of the Kingdom of Italy, ca. 1811-1812. The scene begins on the parade ground of the Foro Bonaparte in the Castle of Milan. In the centre appears the Viceroy Eugène de Beauharnais (1781-1824), followed by the officers of his General Staff. Behind him a formation of Royal Guards of Honour. The parade is opened by the officer and the two trumpets of the Dragoons of the Royal Guard, followed by the troops: the regiments Dragoni Regina, Dragoni Napoleone and the Artillery of the Royal Guard escorting the cannons towed by the Artillery Train of the Guard. In the background can be seen the formations of the four regiments of mounted hunters, preceding the guns of the line artillery. Drawing by Albrecht Adam (1786-1862).
