Chen Duxiu Founded "Youth Magazine" in 1915; Eighth Volume Became Institutional Publication of Shanghai Initial Group of Chinese Communist Party (CCP); Later Became Theoretical Publication of Central Committee of CCP

"Youth Magazine" (later renamed "New Youth") was founded by Chen Duxiu in September 1915 in Shanghai. It emphasized "democracy" and "science" and set off a new cultural movement that completely opposed feudal culture. Since September 1920, the eighth volume became the institutional publication of the Shanghai Initiating Group of the Chinese Communist Party. In June 1923, it became a theoretical publication of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. It ceased publication in July 1926.
