Trophy Makers-The Altar (Facitori di trofei-L'altare), by Giorgio de Chirico, 1926-1928, 20th Century, oil on canvas. Italy, Lombardy. Milan, Boschi Di Stefano Museum-Home. Whole artwork view. In the centre of a narrow room, without doors nor windows, represented in a perspective view, three characters with dummies heads are busy in building up a sort of altar; the character on the left, standing up, wears a drape around his hips, while the other characters are naked; the odd scaffolding they are building, composed of different elements, among which baroque flames, parts of columns and three small horses, culminates with a sharp pediment brushing against the ceiling.
