Bronze box mirror. Culture: Greek. Dimensions: diameter 6 1/8 in. (15.5cm). Date: 2nd quarter of the 4th century B.C. or later.
In relief, head of a woman
The box mirror came into use toward the end of the fifth century B.C. Under the protective cover is the mirror, a cast-bronze disk with a highly polished surface. The relief on the cover was hammered separately and applied.
