Bully beef can opener,1914-1918. Creator: Unknown.

Bully beef or corned beef is meat made from minced salt-cured brisket of beef in gelatin. The word 'bully' possibly comes from the French "bouilli" (boiled), as French troops ate boiled beef in Napoleonic times. Tins of bully beef featured in the rations of armies until the Second World War. Cow-shaped can opener that is made of metal and painted black. A large L-shaped blade is attached by screw to the body of the knife. Above the knife's blade is a cow's head in metal. The body of the blade is curved and loops back on itself in the shape of a tail.
